What makes the method credible

Our approach is guided by the academic principles of rigor, transparency, reproducibility, integrity, and critical review.

Rigor & transparency

The method must fit the question, important decisions must be recorded, and the evidence must be presented clearly enough for someone else to understand how the conclusion was reached.

  • Traceable evidence. Sources and decisions are documented.
  • Honest reporting. Limits and uncertainty are disclosed.

Reproducibility & integrity

Good research makes its reasoning open to examination. We separate evidence from opinion, keep a record of the process, consider disconfirming evidence, and invite review before relying on a conclusion.

New evidence can change the question, expose a weakness in the method, or require a different conclusion. Revision is part of the method, not a failure of it.
